I’ve worked extensively within the justice system across Queensland and New South Wales, focusing on areas like family courts, housing and homelessness, domestic and family violence, and education systems. My background includes both non-profit organisations and government sectors, where I served as a caseworker, dedicated to advocacy and making a difference.

My path to becoming a yoga teacher was inspired by my fascination with how our bodies hold onto emotions and trauma. Reading “The Body Keeps the Score” by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk opened my eyes to the ways we process or sometimes struggle to process our experiences. Studying yoga in Indonesia not only deepened my practice but also blessed me with lifelong friendships.I’ve been teaching for almost two years now, and I can’t imagine my life without it.

In my work with individuals and families, I blend various modalities to create an approach that is fun, welcoming, and supportive. Building strong therapeutic relationships is my top priority without trust and connection, meaningful progress isn’t possible. I take pride in connecting with people from all walks of life, and together, we can create something truly magical.

My background...

When I’m not teaching yoga, counselling my beautiful clients, or advocating for our community, you’ll likely find me at the beach, camping, traveling to tropical destinations, or enjoying time with my incredible friends.

You might be thinking, “This is quite a unique approach for a mental health professional!” And you’re absolutely right! I embrace my genuineness because I believe authenticity is essential in this work.

Therapy does not have to be scary or overwhelming, it can be fun. Trust me.
I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Best,
Mel
